It should have been me!

“A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.”
Coco Chanel

If you’re anything like me, you would have been riveted to your seat on the morning of the royal wedding, glued with total excitement and anticipation.
And boy were we in for a treat! A royal wedding definitely fit for a king, full of splendour and ceremony yet with sentiments of intimacy and thoughtfulness.
The dress was a huge hit especially after the faux pas of the Emmanuelle disaster for Princess Diana, this exquisite creation by Sarah Burton, was a masterpiece!
With its echoes of Grace Kelly’s timeless elegance, it also revealed Kate’s femininity.
So why is this so important? Working in the image and life coaching industries, I know the value of being true to who we are as well as looking stylish and appropriate.
Whilst Princess Diana’s wedding gown was stylish and appropriate, it wasn’t who she was. Hidden beneath the yards and yards of floaty taffeta and silk was a classic, sophisticated and chic woman who, thankfully years on was able to beautifully express who she was through what she wore.
The Duchess of Cambridge has benefitted from Diana’s legacy in so many ways. Diana’s fashion mistakes paved the way for Kate’s classic and feminine style to emerge at an early stage in her new role.
The good news is that you don’t have to marry a prince to be ‘classy and fabulous’. You do need to know who you are and how to express your personality through the clothes you wear.

But the REALLY, REALLY GOOD NEWS is that Jesus is our Prince! By marrying a prince, Kate became part of the royal family. When we accept Jesus as our ‘prince’ in effect we are marrying into God’s family. So if you’re thinking ‘it should have been me’, if Jesus is your saviour, you are an heir to his throne, you already are a princess! And if he isn’t, why not ask him into your heart today and start your own ‘royal’relationship?
