‘As we look into the new year, we look ahead into a block of time- 12 months, 52 weeks, 365 days, 8,760 hours, 525,600 minutes and 31,536,000 seconds. And all is a gift from God. We can waste it. We can worry over it. We can spend it on ourselves. Or, as good stewards, we can invest it in the Kingdom of God.’
This was read out to me yesterday at church, good internet wisdom for the new year. Yesterday I heard that a beautiful dear friend had died at the age of 44. Kathy leaves three young boys and has lost her brave fight with cancer. She doesn’t have 2014 to look forward to. There are no days left for her. As I weep for her loss, the gift of a new year becomes all the more precious. Each month, each day, each moment is precious and should not be wasted. Invest your time in whatever is good, true, important and worthwhile. What does Kingdom living look like for you this year? How will you celebrate the gift of each new day?
