Jubilee and Olympic events? Pimms and Bunting!

This summer is a unique and special time for Britain- how can we make the most of the opportunities within our communities?
Activate supporter Claire Light from Dorset is busy planning a ‘Keep Calm and Make Bunting ‘ event. There will be a variety of tables set up round the room to accommodate all interests and skill levels.

The entry fee of £3 will include a glass of fruity pimms and a free union jack paper chain. Then there is a chance to make a felt red/white and blue felt bunting with union jacks on it. That will cost £4 to make and will involve mainly cutting with pinking shears and gluing. Then there will be a £5 stripy fabric option that will require sharing a sewing machine.
Claire is planning a short wrap-up talk in a royal jubilee year about Jesus as the servant king. Fabrics, papers and felts are readily available from Fabric Land stores and on Amazon linked websites. The idea is that even people who have never sewn before would be interested in getting together to create their own bunting ready for display!!
